Just let me know if I can make you\u00c2\u00a0 comfortable.<\/p>\n<p>Should I be saying comfy?\u00c2\u00a0 Does everyone know what I mean by comfy?\u00c2\u00a0 Problem is, if you say it enough, comfy doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t sound like a word anymore. Comfy. Comfy.\u00c2\u00a0 And it wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even a word to start with.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m a little bit on edge. A lot on edge.\u00c2\u00a0 You see, for the first time ever, a real person is reading my book. Not a friend. Not a classmate. Not an industry professional. A real, honest to goodness human being with a brain and blood and very probably sweat glands.<\/p>\n<p>This has never happened before. And it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s kind of vomit inducing.\u00c2\u00a0 See, for months now, the vampire in my head has been telling me I suck. That I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m really, really terrible. And lately it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been saying, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153See? That real person who reads this is going to think so too.\u00c2\u00a0 Then you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll know I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m right.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Now, Brian knows that the reality is not everyone is going to like his book.\u00c2\u00a0 But I, his neuroses, have this fear that NOBODY will like his book. That people will point and laugh.\u00c2\u00a0 That readers everywhere will create cruel limericks simply to express their disdain.\u00c2\u00a0 And once you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been mocked via limerick, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s pretty much done. Game over, man. Game over.<\/p>\n<p>So I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be over here in the corner, teeth chattering and knees knocking.\u00c2\u00a0 Like Mel Brooks said, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Hope for the best, expect the worst.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Which is good because that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s something I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m awesome at!
